Actors and book-club lovers alike are invited to join our Play Reading group to take a deep dive into the heartwarming, tragic, and hilarious play, Steel Magnolias. With direction from trained actor, Brittany Forsmo, you will explore in depth the themes, dialogue, and characters. Throughout the weeks together, the script will come to life through group readings and facilitated discussion. 

Whether you are familiar with the story or not, an actor or not, this weekly class will help bring the script to life in a way that will bring deeper understanding not only to the play but also to the creation of a theatrical production.

For those interested in acting, the winter class will be followed by an acting class where we'll deepen our experience with the story through exploring the performance, and presenting the work to friends and family on the final day of the class. Click here for details. 

Instructor: Brittany Forsmo
Brittany is an Emerson Alumna whose roots start at the beginning of the marathon- Hopkinton, MA. Growing up in HCA productions, Brittany has stayed true to the New England area by engaging in summer stocks in New Hampshire and new works around Boston.
