Get your hands dirty in this hands-on week of pottery! Beginners will explore various wheel throwing skills such as wedging clay, centering, forming vessels, and glazing, and more experienced potters will focus on making complex forms. Everyone will work on creating functional pottery forms and learn about working in the HCA's Ceramics Studio.

The last day of class students will finish their projects by painting underglazes.

Finished works will be ready for pick up 4–6 weeks after the workshop.

For a full day of fun in the arts, join one of our afternoon programs, Teen Art Studio: Fiber Arts Fun (grades 6–8), or Props & Set Design: Show in a Week (Twisted Fairy Tales, grades 5–9) held at 98 Hayden Rowe Street, a little over 1/2 mile down the street from the ceramics studio. Students will have time for a supervised lunch between programs.

Program Time: 9–11:30 a.m.
Drop off: 9 a.m.
Pick up: 11:30 a.m.

Materials: All art materials will be provided, but each participant should:  

• Bring a reusable water bottle with your child's name on it
• Wear clothes that are comfortable and washable

If you register your child for a full-day, please also bring:

• A nut-free lunch
• 1-2 snack(s) (please do not pack any food that contains nuts)
• Sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray) and bug spray (optional)
