Explore the exciting medium of relief printing! Using a linoleum block, we'll learn how to print by hand by carving our designs and transferring them to create unique pieces of art filled with layers of tones and textures. We will begin with an overview of the relief process, going over the different tools, surfaces, and materials while also getting inspiration from artists who have mastered the technique. We will progress to more complex compositions throughout the week to create various finished pieces.

For a full day of fun in the arts, join one of our morning programs, Teen Art Studio: Oil Painting (grades 7–12), at 98 Hayden Rowe, or Wheel Throwing Foundations (grades 7–12), at 34 Hayden Rowe, about 1/2 mile down the street. Students will have time for a supervised lunch between programs.

Program Time: 12:15–3 p.m.
Drop-off: Between 12–12:15 p.m.
Pick-up: Between 3–3:15 p.m. 
Late Pickups: Incur a fee of $10 for the first 15 minutes and $5 a minute after that.

Materials: All materials will be provided, but each participant should bring: 

• 1-2 snack(s) (please do not pack any food that contains nuts) 
• A reusable water bottle with your child's name on it

If you register your child for a full-day, please also bring:

• A nut-free lunch
• Sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray) and bug spray (optional)
