New and experienced actors are invited to learn and reinforce acting fundamentals with our Enter Stage Left Theater Director, Paul Champlin, through scene study and the performance of a complete short play. By focusing on one narrative, actors will have the opportunity to explore a character through a complete arc, including presenting the preformance on the final night of the class to friends and family. 

Employ techniques for character analysis and formation, interactional dynamics and use of blocking and space to optimally convey character perspectives and the narrative of the piece. Practice mindful and collaborative interplay with scene partners, all in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Instructor: Paul Champlin, who is credited as the originator and co-founder of Enter Stage Left Theater in 1982. As writer, director, choreographer, and performer he has contributed to various theaters in Massachusetts and Rhode Island over the last forty years, and substantially to Enter Stage Left Theater.

Class Dates: 10 Mondays, February 2 to April 27, 2026
No Class: February 16, March 9 and April 20 (though we may have a rehearsal the week of April 20)
Time: 7 to 9 p.m.
