Focus on drawing realistically through exercises, observation and learning techniques from other artists. Each week we will start with warmup exercises to get our hands loose and our eyes keen. Although we will learn how to render individual elements like eyes, noses, hair and hands, focus will be to train the artist's brain to “to draw what you see, not what you think it should be."

Students will be encouraged to do one observational drawing outside of class each week to bring in to discuss their individual progress, obstacles, and questions.

Materials: Charcoal, pencils, pens, ink, pastels and paper will be provided but students are welcome to bring their own sketch books and materials as well.
