Oil Painting: Beginner (Session 1)

Wednesday September 17

Other dates...

1:30 PM  –  3:30 PM

Oil painting, a favorite medium of some of history’s greatest painters, is an essential skill for any artist. With a very slow drying time, you are given more time to create rich textures, depth, and vibrant color as oils allow for gradients that lend themselves to a life-like representation.

In this class, the experienced instructor Marion Buricatu will guide you through essential topics including value, color theory, color mixing, composition, and the principles of light. By the conclusion of the session, you will have acquired a solid foundation, empowering you to embark on your own painting journey with confidence.

Tailored for beginners, all necessary materials will be readily provided for your convenience.

Instructor: Marion Buricatu
Marion was born into an artistic family in France and moved to the US with her family in 2001. She took classes with painting teachers before becoming one herself and earned a modern art certificate at the MOMA. Marion is an enthusiastic artist and instructor with expertise in art history and a variety of artistic mediums, including oils, acrylic, and mixed media.
