Music: Instrument Playground - The Basics

This is the perfect class for young music enthusiasts looking for a well-rounded musical education. This class is also an excellent entry point for young students who know they want to study music but aren't sure which instrument they'd like to focus on.

This program will touch on all the instrument families including things like strings, brass, winds, percussion, and more! Students will have the chance to play a little bit of everything while having basic concepts in music theory and ear training reinforced throughout with fun activities and musical games. Students will even be given the chance to create their own instrument!

The Fall session primarily focuses on the FUNdamentals of rhythm, notes, and incorporates physical movement & games to reinforce these. This program may be taken as a stand-along class. But if taken through the school year, the Fall session will prep students for our winter class where we explore the basics of melody, dynamics, expression, and introduce singing! Finally, in the Spring, after exploring the instrument families and our growing our musical knowledge, we will transition to writing our own music and perform our own musical snippets for family & friends!
