Elementary Dance (Thursday)

At the Elementary level, emphasis is placed on form, musicality, coordination, and working together as an ensemble while developing personal expression through movement. Students will work on skills in a structured class format to include barre work, center, and elements across the floor. Further development of alignment, demi pointe work and allegro prepare the dancer for future pointe training. Students round out their lesson with jazz dance. Isolations, laterals, cross floor progressions, and combinations further develop strength, flexibility and coordination. It is a wonderful and fun way to reinforce a strong dance foundation.

At this level, enrollment in two classes each week is highly recommended. Pre pointe and pointe students must be enrolled in three classes each week in order to develop and maintain the required strength and technique. Pointe students must be deemed physically ready by HCA instructors.

A deposit is required to hold your dancer's spot for the academic year.

The registration fee includes a spring costume deposit. Tuition for the (1 or 2) classes per week will be billed separately. Once registered, parents will be sent an email with more details, including payment plan options. Please note that fees associated with dancers who take part in the annual Nutcracker Ballet production are not included in the tuition.
