Dance Foundations 3 (Thu)

Thursday September 12

4:15 PM  –  5:30 PM

Dance Foundations 3 (Thu.)

An imaginative class designed to be a foundation for basic dance principles (ballet and jazz) and proper French ballet terminology. We begin with a 50-minute ballet lesson. Students will work on skills in a structured class format to include barre work, center, and elements across the floor. Emphasis is placed on form, musicality, coordination, expression, and working together as an ensemble. The 75-minute class concludes with a fun exploration of the fundamentals of jazz dance technique, and free dance and improvisation exercises allow classmates to celebrate one another’s individuality.
