For kids who love dance, music, acting and crafts! We'll select a classic story or folktale to focus on throughout the week through lessons in musical theater inspired jazz dance, ballet, hip hop, and more. Lessons are designed to contribute to a technical foundation while also encouraging creativity, with room for exploring music appreciation, crafts, and exercises to hone our acting, choreography, and improvisation skills. We’ll also learn about all the fabulous “behind the scenes” jobs that bring productions to life.
The week culminates with an informal performance for family. Students will retell the story through dance and gesture set to music, and the student’s crafts will be exhibited for the audience to enjoy.
Designed for those with prior dance training, but beginners willing to take the plunge into the fun and exciting world of dance are more than welcome!
