Young visual artists are invited to participate in our full-day program exploring a wide range of art mediums connected to a weekly theme. Campers will explore everything from drawing and pen and ink to watercolor, acrylic, pastel, and mixed media while building foundational art skills and creating original projects. The week will culminate in a student art show on Friday before pickup. 

Week 7: Installation Art
Transform our art rooms into immersive installation art! Campers will work together to create large-scale three-dimensional pieces using assemblage, collage, painting, and sculpture. This week challenges students to think about art that fills a space and surrounds the viewer—inviting exploration and engagement from all sides. 

Throughout the week, students will discover how installation art can express emotions, ideas, and stories. Each individual piece will reflect a part of the artist, and together these works will combine to tell a larger visual story. Campers will explore how their individual artworks can fit together to create an installation that encourages viewers to move through the space and engage multiple senses.

Grades: 3–6
Week 7: August 10–14
Location: 98 Hayden Rowe Street
Program Time: 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
Drop-off: Between 8:45–9 a.m.
Pick-up: Between 3–3:15 p.m. 
Late Pickups: Incur a fee of $10 for the first 15 minutes and $5 a minute after that.
Materials: All materials will be provided, but each participant should bring: 

• 2 snack(s) (no nuts please) 
• Lunch (no nuts please)
• A reusable water bottle with your child's name on it
• Sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray) and bug spray (optional)
• Wear clothes that are comfortable and washable

• Injury Waiver: You must agree to the HCA injury waiver to register for classes. 
• Photo Release Agreement: You can agree to the HCA's Photo Release Agreement during registration.

Scholarships: The HCA believes the arts are for everyone. Thanks to the generosity of the Dora Kishibay Garabedian Scholarship Fund and individual donations to our scholarship fund, we can assist children, teens, and adults who might not otherwise be able to afford classes.
