Adaptive Group Dance

Wednesday January 14

Other dates...

5:00 PM  –  6:00 PM

This movement class is designed for adults with cognitive and developmental disabilities and/or ASD to express themselves through their unique style of movement. Each class incorporates strengthening, stretching, balancing, as well as learning new movements that travel across the floor. Inspired by a variety of pop, folk and rap music, students will learn how to create their own dance sequences along with working on memory skills by learning choreography. This fun, active and engaging class is sure to get the heart rate up! All are welcome and no dance experience is necessary to participate.

Please note: The HCA does not provide support services during this program. If you or your student typically requires a 1:1 assistant or support person, we require that the parent/caregiver/aide remain for the class to assist. A section in the registration form allows for the person's name to be listed. We welcome the parent/caregiver who wants to participate actively in the class!

A presentation (optional participation) will be prepared for the last day of class for friends and family.

We are able to offer this class at a significant discount thanks to our generous sponsors, Eversource and Dell Technologies.
