Yoga for Better Posture & Mobility (Thurs)

Thursday January 16

Other dates...

9:30 AM  –  10:30 AM

Start your day off right with a gentle but effective yoga class with modifications for all. We will balance out the major muscle groups in order to improve posture, mobility and overall well-being. Each session will include functional stretching and strengthening poses for the entire body.

We will stretch the muscles that bring the body out of alignment and cause discomfort. We will also gently open the heart to counteract our forward leaning lifestyle. The class will start with a standing warm up and end with restorative poses on the mat. Chairs will be available for balance or modifications.

All levels of experience are welcome, but the class is geared towards students over 50 years young!

DROP-INS WELCOME: If there is sufficient space, drop-ins are welcome to attend. The drop-in fee is $25 per class (cash, check, or card). Please call to inquire about space the evening before or morning of: 508-435-9222. Phone lines are open 9am-5pm.

Instructor: Laura Michel has a dance background and has been practicing yoga for nearly 30 years. She earned a teaching certificate from Artemis Yoga in Watertown, MA. In addition, she has trained at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, and much of her teaching is grounded in knowledge learned from instructors Lee Albert and Pat Lebau. Laura is passionate about both the physical and emotional benefits of yoga. She loves to see her students taking care of themselves on the mat.
