Get your hands dirty in this hands-on week of pottery! Beginners will explore various wheel throwing skills such as wedging clay, centering, forming vessels, and glazing, and more experienced potters will focus on making complex forms. Everyone will work on creating functional pottery forms and learn about working in the HCA's Ceramics Studio.

The last day of class students will finish their projects by painting underglazes.

Finished works will be ready for pick up 4–6 weeks after the workshop.

For a full day of fun in the arts, join our afternoon program for those in grades 7–9, Props & Set Design: Alice in Wonderland, held at 98 Hayden Rowe Street. Supervised lunch takes place at 98 Hayden Rowe, so students staying for a full day can have the option of walking to 98, a little over a 1/2 mile down the street.

Location: Ceramics Studio, 34 Hayden Rowe St, Suite 304
Program Time: 9–11:30 a.m.
Drop-off:  9 a.m.
Pick-up: 11:30 a.m. 
Late Pickups: Incur a fee of $10 for the first 15 minutes and $5 a minute after that.

Materials: All art materials will be provided, but each participant should bring: 

• A reusable water bottle 
• Wear clothes that are comfortable and washable

If you register your child for a full-day, please also bring:

• A nut-free lunch
• 1-2 snack(s) (please do not pack any food that contains nuts) 
• Sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray) and bug spray (optional)
