Our teen intensive program focuses specifically on one medium per camp week, giving students the opportunity to build a strong foundation while developing a focused portfolio of artwork. Teens will work closely with professional artists and explore the week's medium in depth. All levels of experience are welcome. Student work will be displayed at the end of the week. 

Week 3: Printmaking
Explore the world of mono prints and relief printmaking in this studio art week. We will with Gelli plates to experiment with monoprint techniques, then move on to carving linoleum blocks and printing by hand to create artwork rich in layered textures and tones. Students will also learn how to use the HCA's newly acquired printing press, gaining first hand experience with a centuries-old printmaking process.

Throughout the week, we'll experiment with advanced techniques such as blind embossing and chine collé, while developing an understanding of printmaking materials, tools, and surfaces. Students will progress from practicing foundational skills to more complex projects, culminating in a cohesive collection of original prints.

Program Time: 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
Drop-off: Between 8:45–9 a.m.
Pick-up: Between 3–3:15 p.m. 
Late Pickups: Incur a fee of $10 for the first 15 minutes and $5 a minute after that.
Materials: All materials will be provided, but each participant should bring: 

• 2 snack(s) (no nuts please) 
• Lunch (no nuts please)
• A reusable water bottle with your child's name on it
• Sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray) and bug spray (optional)
• Wear clothes that are comfortable and washable
