Our teen intensive program focuses specifically on one medium per camp week, giving students the opportunity to build a strong foundation while developing a focused portfolio of artwork. Teens will work closely with professional artists and explore the week's medium in depth. All levels of experience are welcome. Student work will be displayed at the end of the week.
Week 5: Fiber ArtsExplore fiber arts in a small group studio setting with award-winning weaver Dahlia Popovits. Teens will gain hands-on experience with crocheting, embroidery, weaving, and working on various looms. Using repurposed fabric strips, students will create wall hangings and table mats, and continue on to embroidery on garments and accessories.Please note: Registration for this program closes on Thursday, July 23.
Grades: 6–12Week 5: July 27–31Instructor: Dahlia PopovitsDahlia has designed and woven award-winning clothing and accessories for nearly 50 years, using fine natural materials from around the world. Her work is featured at Dahlia Gallery in Boston and in national juried shows like The Smithsonian. She teaches at art centers including Hopkinton Center for the Arts, Fuller Craft Museum, Worcester Craft Center, and Castle Hill. Dahlia is excited to share her expertise in her upcoming workshops.
