These weekly teen intensive programs dive into specific mediums, allowing teens the opportunity to lay a strong artistic foundation and build a portfolio of work that will be put on display at the end of the week. All levels of experience are welcome. Working with professional artists, and dedicating time to a specific medium, artists.

Week 4: Design & Illustration
Learn how to turn ideas into clear and compelling art during this week-long intensive! Whether you enjoy designing your own logos, creating greeting cards, or illustrating your own comic book or graphic novel, this camp will help you strengthen your visual storytelling skills. Expand your drawing skills and reinforce your understanding of line, shape, and value to communicate ideas effectively through design and illustration. We will draw inspiration from professional designers and transform concepts into finished works by the end of the week.

Grades: 6–12
Week 4: July 20–24
Location: 98 Hayden Rowe Street
Program Time: 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
Drop-off: Between 8:45–9 a.m.
Pick-up: Between 3–3:15 p.m. 
Late Pickups: Incur a fee of $10 for the first 15 minutes and $5 a minute after that.
Materials: All materials will be provided, but each participant should bring: 

• 2 snack(s) (no nuts please) 
• Lunch (no nuts please)
• A reusable water bottle with your child's name on it
• Sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray) and bug spray (optional)
• Wear clothes that are comfortable and washable

• Injury Waiver: You must agree to the HCA injury waiver to register for classes. 
• Photo Release Agreement: You can agree to the HCA's Photo Release Agreement during registration.

Scholarships: The HCA believes the arts are for everyone. Thanks to the generosity of the Dora Kishibay Garabedian Scholarship Fund and individual donations to our scholarship fund, we can assist children, teens, and adults who might not otherwise be able to afford classes.
