Explore the art of portraiture through the lens of Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring in this hands-on, three-class series (2 hours each). Begin by learning to “draw with a brush” using a grid to accurately capture proportions. In the second session, establish main shapes and values to create a tonal plan and understand value hierarchies. Finally, move into painting, practicing the “thin to thick” approach to build depth and luminosity. Using a limited color palette, you’ll gain a clear understanding of form, light, and technique while creating your own masterful study.
For intermediate painters.
