Fiber arts are trending again! From TikTok communities to art exhibitions, people across the U.S. are rediscovering the creativity and relaxation of embroidery, weaving, and knitting. This 6-week class offers a hands-on introduction to techniques in embroidery, cross stitch, weaving, and knitting. Each two-week segment focuses on one medium, allowing you to build skills progressively.

Weeks 1–2: Embroidery and Cross Stitch
Learn basic stitches and techniques to create decorative designs on different types of fabric or even paper. We'll also learn how to use patterns as well as how to work with your own designs.

Weeks 3–4: Weaving
Discover the art of weaving by making a simple loom to create small woven pieces that can be incorporated into an artwork or stand on its own. Also, get the chance to use some non-traditional items that can be used when weaving.

Weeks 5-6: Knitting
Demystify the differences between a "knit" and a "purl" stitch as well as how to knit using your hands, a loom, loop yarn or traditional needles. Based on the level of students more advanced techniques may be introduced.

Whether you're new to fiber arts or seeking to expand your skills, this class provides a supportive environment to explore creativity and craftsmanship. Join us to connect with others and experience the joy of making with your hands. Students in this class are eligible to participate in Open Studio times during the week to work on projects as well.
