Designed to develop a foundation for technique, terminology and expression in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, our instructors share their joy of both classical ballet and tap dance in this 75-minute class. Classical ballet skills are presented in a structured class format to include center work and elements across the floor while an emphasis is placed on creative expression, musicality, coordination, and working together as an ensemble. Exercises develop posture, balance, strength, flexibility, and coordination. Lessons in storytelling, choreography, and improvisation further self confidence, creativity, and individual expression. We save the last 30-minutes of class to explore the fundamentals of tap dance allowing students to explore rhythms and patterns. 

Dancers are welcome to participate in multiple Elementary 1 classes a week allowing them a chance to explore various dance style and reinforce their skills. 

Students have the option of participating in a January Showcase on Saturday, January 24th. Costume fees, which range $30-$50, are not included in tuition.
