Celebrate the magic of dance as we explore the choreography, story telling, and performing techniques presented at popular theme parks around the world. If you enjoy music from "K-Pop Demon Hunters", Stella Lou, and classics from Broadway and the big screen, then this workshop is for you!
Jazz dance, ballet, hip hop, lyrical and more are all featured on the stages, main streets, and party locations of your favorite destinations. We will present fun lessons inspired by these performances including the following:
At the end of the week, we will present a mash up of theme park dances at an informal studio performance. Audience members will be invited to join in!
The program is designed for dancers with at least one year of formal training, but beginners are welcome to join. Please contact jessica@hopartscenter.org with any questions about the program.
Although it is not required, we recommend “Theme Park” students enrich their dance experience by also enrolling in the morning session, “Summer Dance Workshop.” The technique developed in the Workshop may improve the dancers ability to retain and execute choreography. Head shot and stage hair and makeup lessons are also included in the “Lights, Camera, Dance!” workshop. It’s beneficial to repeat the lessons. Students are welcome to sign up for both workshops.
