This mixed level class includes individual instruction based on skill level, giving every student the time they need. Beginning students will learn foundational techniques including hand-building and wheel-throwing skills such as wedging clay, centering, forming vessels, and glazing. Intermediate students will focus on making more complex forms, glazing methods and other surface decoration.

Choose your own individual wheel-thrown or hand-built projects to work on over the weeks.

Instructor: Hana Reilly

Materials: Tuition includes a 25 lb bag of clay (any additional clay must be purchased at the HCA studio from our teachers), all firing, access to glazes and underglazes. Tools are available in the studio, however, students can bring their own tools.

Open Studio: Tuition also includes Open Studios, hours to work on their pieces outside of class time. Additional information will be provided during your first class.
