Add some color and fun to your Saturday mornings! Using clay, paint, and other art media, we'll engage in expressive creation from memory, observation and imagination. Each project will begin with inspiration and information provided through picture books, children's poems or songs, sharing observations from looking at artwork or natural objects, etc. Fun, age appropriate learning of art techniques, history and appreciation are woven with culture, a little math and science to afford a rich and satisfying learning experience. Emphasis is on the creative learning process and having fun! Students can take this class multiple times and never repeat a project!
This program is an excellent preparation for more advanced art classes, including Art Explorers for grades 2–3!
