Art & Stage Explorations: Pop Legends

Monday July 6

9:00 AM  –  3:00 PM

Join us for the unique HCA experience—a week of creative programming spanning all of our departments —visual arts, drama, movement, music, and games! Each week will be based around a fun theme. Our week concludes with an art show and final performance before pickup on Friday.

Our Pop Legends week will feature inspiration by popular characters as you design and develop your own imaginative creations.

In the art studio, students will focus on the fundamentals of character development—exploring how personality, expression, costume, color choices, and physical features can help shape a character. Using pencils, Sharpie pens, markers, and colored pencils, we'll practice essential drawing techniques and the elements of art to bring both existing and newly designed characters to life on the page!

In the theater portion of camp, students will dive into character development through body movement, vocal expression, and imagination. Through fun drama games and collaborative activities, we'll explore characters from K-Pop Demon Hunters, Winnie the Pooh, and more! Campers will see how these characters can be brought to life on stage as they learn foundational acting skills, and build confidence through performance!
